“May the Fourth be with you” – A family trip to the LEGO Store

May 4th, Star Wars Day, is always a special day for any LEGO and Star Wars fan. This year, it became even more memorable as the whole Redmond family, Darren, Jill, Luke, and Rose, made a trip into the LEGO Store on Grafton Street, Dublin. The goal: to celebrate Star Wars Day and add some very special pieces to our growing LEGO Museum collection.

It was one of those perfect family LEGO days. The store was buzzing with collectors, builders, and young Jedi from all over. The atmosphere was brilliant, full of excitement, exclusive sets, special builds, and that familiar LEGO Store magic.

The Haul, Additions to Redmond’s Forge Star Wars Exhibit in the Museum

We left Grafton Street with an armful (actually, multiple bags full) of LEGO treasures, both Star Wars and a few bonus additions:

A Few Extra Surprises:

  • Make & Take Event: 2 x Grogu “The Child” builds – Rose and Luke each made one for the collection.

A Family LEGO Adventure

While the sets are exciting, what really made this May 4th so special was sharing it together. Seeing Luke and Rose explore the displays, pick out their favourite builds, and help search for the last Formula 1 CMFs was a joy. Even Jill got into the fun as we debated which sets would be for the LEGO Museum, which would fit into our LEGO City, is it worth using the LEGOO insider double points to buy the UCS Firespray (Yes it is!), and which might stay safely sealed for the long-term collection.

There’s something timeless about being in the LEGO Store as a family, a reminder that LEGO isn’t just about the bricks, but about the memories you build together.

What’s Next?

All of these new sets will now be carefully catalogued as part of the growing inventory for Redmond’s Forge LEGO Museum. The two Jango Fett sets and the BrickHeadz will take pride of place in our Star Wars display, while the keyrings may end up in a small mini-exhibit of LEGO Accessories.

And of course, we now officially have two Grogu apprentices (thanks to the make & take event), trained personally by Luke and Rose themselves.

May the Fourth Be With You – Always

This May 4th was a reminder of why we love this hobby: the creativity, the community, the collecting, and most of all, the memories we’re building as a family. One more step forward on the road to opening Redmond’s Forge Museum.
