LEGO Look Ahead – August 2025

lego_look_ahead_august_2025

As the sun sets on the first day of August, there’s a distinct hum in the LEGO community, like the satisfying click of a perfect brick connection. With over 100 new sets landing today across LEGO.com, third-party retailers, and local toy stores, August 2025 is already shaping up to be a month to remember. But beyond the launch day rush, what else does this month promise?

From fresh waves of Ninjago, Star Wars, and City to whispers of what’s brewing for September reveals, this is your full look ahead at what might unfold across the world of LEGO in August 2025.

🔥 1st August Drop: The Starting Gun Fires

If today was any indication, August is going to be a sprint. The LEGO online store saw one of its busiest mornings of the year. Here at Redmond’s Forge, our cart overflowed (as it often does):

  • Baratie Floating Restaurant (One Piece): Already a favourite with Luke, who gasped as the mast rose from the sea of bricks.
  • LEGO Star Wars 75435 Separatist MTT and 75433 Jango Fett’s Starship: Both arrived in a double-boxed shipment, destined for the Clone Wars section of the LEGO Museum.
  • LEGO Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Creatures Pack: A surprise mini-set with huge charm, Rose was entranced.

And yes, the LEGO Fortnite GWP was back (and we managed to nab two before it vanished).

There’s still stock available on many of the new releases, but we expect high-demand sets to sell out multiple times this month. If you’re on the fence, don’t wait too long.

🏗️ Builds We’re Planning at Redmond’s Forge

The kitchen table is booked solid every Saturday and Sunday this month. Our build plans include:

  • LEGO 21348 Dungeons & Dragons Red Dragon’s Tale – A nostalgic adventure Darren and Luke will dive into, likely with plenty of dice-rolling between steps.
  • LEGO 76273 Avengers Tower (Rebuild) – Now that the Daily Bugle is proudly standing, it’s time to restore its Marvel sibling and place them side by side.
  • LEGO Friends 42639 Andrea’s Modern Mansion – Possibly a solo project for Rose, who’s developing quite the architectural flair.
  • A custom Hoth MOC on four white column plinths, using blue-themed MILS plates and UCS AT-AT support troops, and the ambitious Part Tree double MOC for the Exgorth’s Maw escape and Yavin IV Rebel Base
  • And a family favourite: Classic Creator box rebuild challenge, using just one tub to create something from each child’s imagination.

Expect reviews on redmondreviews.com for all of the above in the weeks to come.

🛒 Haul Season Continues: Eyes on Auctions & Pop-Ups

After July’s monster haul from Ashbourne and the British & Irish Lions LEGO Tour, our focus now shifts to:

  • The next Vectis LEGO Auction, where we’re watching a few 2000s Technic and Star Wars sets.
  • Facebook Marketplace in Wicklow, Dublin, Meath, and Louth, where a promising lead on a complete 10182 Café Corner may just result in another early morning pickup.
  • Dublin LEGO Collector’s Pop-Up (Aug 17th–18th): Rumoured to include a stall from a former LEGO Store employee offloading exclusive staff sets.

We’ll also continue documenting our auction tips, tracking prices on sealed vintage sets, and comparing them to Bricklink and eBay for transparency.

🗣️ What the Community Is Saying

  • LEGO YouTubers are already declaring the Artemis Launchpad and Baratie Floating Restaurant as set of the year contenders.
  • Brickset forums are heated about the €149.99 pricing of the Republic Juggernaut, many arguing it should’ve stayed under €120.
  • Instagram and TikTok are flooded with builds of the LEGO Animal Crossing wave, unexpectedly still going strong into autumn, especially among teen and adult fans.

A notable highlight? A viral short of a builder using three Baratie sets to create a massive floating city port. We’ll try to track that down for our monthly roundup.

🔎 Rumours & Teasers for September…

The LEGO leak mill has been eerily quiet. But a few whispers have surfaced:

  • LEGO Modular 2026 Tease: One source claims the 2026 modular (to be announced in January) will tie into the 1950s American diner aesthetic. Could it be a retro bowling alley?
  • LEGO Winter Village 2025 Set Reveal: Historically announced mid-late August. Last year’s Holiday Ski Chalet went live on August 22nd. Watch this space.
  • LEGO Batman Returns?: A hush-hush Instagram post from a designer hinted at a 1992 Batcave revisit in early 2026, but it’s likely a long shot.

Meanwhile, LEGO Insiders Day is rumoured to return in September, which could make August a good month to accumulate points.

💸 What to Buy Now (Before Prices Spike)

If you’ve got a limited budget this month, here’s where we recommend starting:

  1. 10341 Artemis Space Launch System (€259.99) – Already low in stock in several markets. Educational, iconic, display-worthy.
  2. 21348 Red Dragon’s Tale (€359.99) – Could vanish quickly due to crossover appeal to D&D fans.

Skip (for now): Republic Juggernaut – Overpriced for its part count. Wait for a 20% retailer drop or use Insider Points.

🧱 This Month at Redmond’s Forge

We’re planning a mini showcase at Redmond’s Forge in late August—a soft trial for a future one-weekend LEGO exhibition. If all goes well, you might see:

  • Full LEGO City rebuilds (now that 5×2.5 baseplates are populated),
  • Minifigure walls by theme (Marvel, Star Wars, CMF),
  • Giant MOCs for Star Wars, Harry Potter, Ninjago, Minecraft, and more,
  • And even a LEGO Sorting Station Demo, with our kids showing how to tackle mixed brick lots.

Plus, we’re toying with the idea of recording short audio versions of our blog posts, accessible via QR code and generating video and vlog content. More on that soon!

🧩 Final Brick

August 2025 is a builder’s dream. The releases are plentiful, the community is buzzing, and the weather’s just good enough to justify staying indoors for long LEGO sessions.

Whether you’re chasing down UCS Grails at auction or simply building with your kids at the kitchen table, there’s something magical about August in the LEGO calendar. Brick by brick, memory by memory, we’ll keep sharing it with you.

Stay tuned, stay stacked, and happy building.
