You Wait Ages for One… Then Three Come Along in a Week
There’s an old saying about buses – you wait forever, then three turn up at once. It turns out, roller coasters are exactly the same… at least in the LEGO world.
Today’s lunchtime pickup was yet another unexpected twist in our collecting journey – a sealed LEGO Creator 31084 Pirate Roller Coaster for just €50. This wasn’t even on the schedule. The original plan was a drive down to Wexford, but as fate (and good communication) would have it, the seller happened to be working in Booterstown today. That meant a far more convenient meeting point – the AppleGreen in Stillorgan – and a stress-free lunchtime handover.
It’s moments like this that remind me how much a smooth transaction can make everyone’s life easier. A quick chat, a willingness to adjust plans, and suddenly we’re all better off – the seller saves time, I save fuel, and our LEGO collection gains another gem without the extra miles.
And this week? Well, it’s been a coaster frenzy. After months of seeing none for sale locally, the universe clearly decided to dump three different LEGO roller coasters in our path within days. The 10303 Loop Coaster from Rathnew, the 10261 Roller Coaster from Killiney, and now this Pirate Roller Coaster have all joined the collection in record time.
It’s proof that in LEGO collecting, patience really can pay off – but when opportunity knocks, you’d better be ready to open the door (or, in this case, pop open the boot).
So, if you’ve been holding out for that special set, don’t lose heart. Sometimes, you just need to wait for the first “bus” to arrive – because chances are, the next two will be right behind it.
