Day 10 at Redmond’s Forge turned out to be one of the most varied and rewarding days yet, filled with sport, bricks, swimming, and even a late-evening LEGO pickup.
The morning began at Ballyogan Park, where Luke took to the pitch for his football match. The air was fresh, the sidelines busy with parents and supporters, and the sound of boots meeting the ball set the tone for the day. Luke played with determination, showing the same energy and commitment he brings to everything he does. Watching him in action was the perfect start.
From there, we headed straight to Taney Parish Centre in Dundrum for Taney Brick Saturday 2025. The parish hall was alive with colour, chatter, and creativity. The talented Brick.ie builders had filled the space with incredible custom LEGO® creations, an amazing train exhibit, a huge marble run, the brick.ie sprawling mansion of different members modular rooms – I think this looks like the new €1000 LEGO Death Star will look like – amazing once assembled with so many stories and variations. Then there was the pirate and castle exhibits. I even noticed Sponge-bob hiding or guarding in the crennalations, the space exhibit, all sparking endless inspiration. Luke and Rose dived straight into the brick play pit, while I enjoyed the chance to wander the displays and chat with the model builders. The mini-mosaic activities were a real hit, as were the LEGO inspired puzzles, with with refreshments and a raffle adding to the fun. The event had a warm, welcoming feel and knowing that all proceeds supported Taney Parish made it all the more worthwhile. My one regret was not registering to exhibit at this as the Star Wars MOCs that we have made would have been great to show off, but perhaps it is best to wait until the Dublin Brick Con to display those.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted from bricks to water as we made our way to the Dolphin Swimming Pool in Stillorgan. Luke and Rose were in their element, diving, splashing, and swimming lengths with big smiles on their faces. After the energy of football and the buzz of Taney Brick Saturday, the cool water was just what they needed.
And just when it seemed the day was winding down, we squeezed in one final adventure. In the evening we drove to Newcastle, County Dublin, where a seller had set aside a bundle of six LEGO Friends sets for us. In a fun twist, the address was the same place we had recently collected the Carnage and Venom builds, though this time it was from a completely different seller. A familiar doorstep, but a whole new haul to bring home.
With football, LEGO, swimming, and a colourful Friends pickup to finish, Day 10 was packed from start to finish. Each stop carried its own special energy, from the cheers of Ballyogan Park to the creative buzz of Taney, the splashes at Dolphin Pool, and finally the quiet satisfaction of another successful addition to the collection. It was the kind of day that perfectly captures what Redmond’s Forge is all about: adventure, community, and the joy of building memories brick by brick.
