The Lights Came On – Redmond’s Forge Opens in Tinahely

Today at 10am, Redmond’s Forge opened its doors. Six months ago, this was just an idea. An idea that a unit in Tinahely could become something different. Not just a shop. Not just storage. But a buy, sell, and trade hub for LEGO and collectibles. A space where rare sets could be displayed. Where retired LEGO could find new homes. Where collectors and families could walk in and feel that spark of nostalgia and creativity.

Yesterday, the electricity was finally switched on. It might seem like a small thing, but it felt symbolic. The business unit went from quiet and cold to lit up and alive. Shelves filled. Sets displayed. Boxes stacked. Mini-figures sorted. Plush lined up. Puzzles arranged.

From empty unit… to exhibition-ready space.

What You’ll Find at Redmond’s Forge

Redmond’s Forge is now open every Saturday from 10am to 4pm at:

Unit 12, Riverside Business Centre
Tinahely, Co. Wicklow

Inside you’ll discover:

🧱 Rare LEGO sets – both built and sealed in box
📦 Retired and hard-to-find LEGO
🛍️ Polybags & minifigures
🔁 A buy, sell, and trade counter for LEGO collectors
🧸 Hello Kitty plush
🧩 Puzzle games and family-friendly gifts

This isn’t just about selling sets. It’s about creating a local collectible hub, a place where conversations happen, trades happen, and collections grow.

Six Months in the Making

The last six months haven’t been glamorous. They’ve involved:

  • Pricing polybags late at night
  • Sorting mini-figures piece by piece
  • Building shelving
  • Organising displays
  • Setting up insurance
  • Designing posters
  • Figuring out signage
  • Learning what works, and what doesn’t

Entrepreneurship doesn’t always look like pitch decks and LinkedIn announcements. Sometimes it looks like sweeping floors, carrying boxes, and wondering whether anyone will actually show up.

But this morning, at 10am, that question turned into reality.

Why Tinahely?

Because small towns deserve interesting spaces too. Because collectors exist outside of Dublin. Because community matters. Because it was at the correct price.

Redmond’s Forge is starting small, a soft launch, but with bigger ambitions ahead. This is the first step in building something sustainable, something community-driven, and something that celebrates LEGO and collectibles properly.

This Is Just the Beginning

We’re open every Saturday from 10am to 4pm. If you’re local, curious, a collector, or just want to see what six months of belief looks like, call in.

This is the start of a much bigger journey for Redmond’s Forge. The lights are on. Let’s build. Arklow in the bigger LEGO Museum will happen in June.
