As the sun sets on the first day of July, there’s a palpable sense of excitement in the LEGO world. With new waves hitting shelves, fan conventions on the horizon, and whispers of massive reveals later this month, July is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling months of 2025 for AFOLs and younger builders alike.
Here’s what we’re watching closely this month, from rumoured exclusives to confirmed releases, community highlights, and a few bold predictions.
🚀 New Releases: Summer Waves Hit Hard
1. LEGO Dreamzzz Wave 3 (Official Launch – July 1st)
While select reviewers had early access last week, July 1st marks the official street date for LEGO Dreamzzz Wave 3. With darker fantasy tones and more modular building across sets like Mateo’s Nightmare Fortress and Izzie’s Spirit Guardian Dragon, this wave signals a maturing of the Dreamzzz theme.
Expect strong demand for 71488 The Shadow Gate, which many speculate could become a future cult classic.
2. LEGO Ninjago Summer 2025
This wave introduces a new villain arc, “The Shattered Scrolls”, alongside intricate temple builds and reimagined mechs. Fan chatter suggests 71799: The Temple of Infinite Paths may be a spiritual successor to Monastery of Spinjitzu.
3. LEGO City Jungle Explorers Subtheme
Just in time for summer adventures, LEGO City introduces a fresh jungle line, complete with a working rope bridge, temples, and new animal molds like jaguars and tree frogs. These sets drop on July 4th.
4. LEGO Friends Adventure Camp Expansions
The next chapter in Heartlake City’s evolution sees the gang taking on mountaineering, river kayaking, and forest scouting. Look for 42618 Autumn’s Canyon Basecamp to become a favourite for display and play alike.
🎉 Big Events on the Horizon
BrickFair Virginia (July 31 – August 4)
One of the largest AFOL conventions in North America is back, and it’s rumoured LEGO will use the platform to showcase an early teaser of the 2025 Winter Village set. Attendees can expect MOC displays, vendor exclusives, and possibly a first look at a UCS-style LEGO Disney Castle Reissue.
Amazon Prime Day (Mid-July, Dates TBA)
July’s other major event will likely be Amazon Prime Day, expected around July 15–16. We’re already seeing whispers of discounts on high-ticket sets like:
- 10316 Rivendell
- 43222 Disney Castle
- 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP
- And possibly the now-retired but occasionally resurfacing 10297 Boutique Hotel
🔍 What We Expect (But Haven’t Seen Yet)
1. A UCS Star Wars Surprise?
Given LEGO’s strong push for adult Star Wars collectors this year, and the announcement cadence from past Julys, we wouldn’t be surprised if we saw the reveal of a UCS Tantive IV, AT-ST, or Death Star Hangar this month. Star Wars Celebration Europe may be over, but that doesn’t mean LEGO’s schedule is slowing down.
2. LEGO Insiders Weekend Tease
There’s mounting speculation that LEGO will tease Insiders Weekend plans (returning in August), with potential double points offers or pre-orders for a major Icons set, possibly the long-rumoured 10341 Artemis Space Launch System.
3. BrickLink Designer Program Wave 3 Previews
Keep an eye on the official LEGO and BrickLink channels. We’re due an update on BDP Wave 3, and with fan builds ranging from micro medieval towns to modular arcades, it’s going to be competitive.

🧱 Community MOC Challenge: Summer Showdown
Finally, don’t forget to submit your entries to the LEGO Ideas Summer Showdown, which runs through July 25th. The theme? “Vacation Like a Minifigure.” Expect some brilliant beach builds, campsite dioramas, and maybe even a minifig cruise ship or two. Winning entries may receive LEGO gift cards and be spotlighted on the official LEGO Ideas site.
🔮 The Big Question for July
Will LEGO announce the next Icons landmark set by the end of the month? What will be revealed in the world of Star Wars?
Rumour mills point to something British and regal, perhaps St. Paul’s Cathedral or Windsor Castle. If a reveal happens, it’ll likely be the week of July 22nd to give media and retailers time to prepare for an August 1st launch.
