This Week in LEGO: 14th-20th October, 2025

As the dust (and a few stray 2×2 plates) finally settle after Dublin Brick Con, the real work began this week, transforming the Redmond’s Forge Warehouse in Arklow into a true LEGO Museum. Between painting walls, assembling tables, sorting crates, and hauling more LEGO than we care to count, this week was all about momentum, one stud at a time.

This Week in LEGO: September 23rd – 29th, 2025

This week, all eyes are on the LEGO Star Wars Death Star – Ultimate Collector Series (UCS 75419). Officially revealed earlier this month, the set packs 9,023 pieces and 38 minifigures. It’s priced at €999.99 / $999.99 and slated for full availability 4 October (with Insiders early access from 1 October). I will be at the top of the queue in Dublin’s Grafton Street store. Ahead of that, leaked builds and previews have sparked fierceness in the fandom. Some love the ambition and detail; others critique the “slice” design (i.e. not a full sphere) and heavy use of stickers.

This Week In LEGO: September 9th – 15th, 2025

The UCS Death Star 75419, I love this set. It’s a bold, impressive statement. The level of detail, the sheer scale, and inclusion of so many classic scenes make it more than just a display piece. It feels like a museum piece for Star Wars LEGO and I can’t wait to have it on display. Yes, there are valid grumbles about price, size, shelf space, and whether it’s worth the cost, but from my perspective, it delivers for what it promises. If you’re a seasoned builder or a Star Wars collector, this hits the sweet spot, although a lot of people are saying they will not buy it at this price.

This Week in LEGO: 19th-25th August, 2025

If the summer LEGO season peaked in July, then August blew the roof off the LEGO factory. With over 100 new sets that hit the shelves this month, August 2025 now stands as one of the biggest LEGO release months in history. And this week, in particular, delivered a mix of clone troopers and castles, cars and princesses, rumours about the Death Star GWP (a tie-fighter with a couple of stormtroopers and a pilot), and even a surprise open-world Batman game announcement.
